The Sylvan's Tale, or The Imprison'd Lady

Deep in Myrkil´shin, there once lived a female sylvan that was known throughout the entire forest, and her name was on everbody´s lips. She was the most beatiful creature ever touched by the sun.

She was good hearted, full of spirit and joy, and loved to run through the forest, dance with butterflies and let the sun and the wind play with her hair.

Naturally, males flocked around her, and she bathed in their admiration, but still kept her distance, as none of them made her heart fly.

Then, one day, she went with her family to the nearest town,. and there she saw the sea for the first time. The smell, the sound of waves rolling, the seagulls, the everlasting view. The point where sea met sky. She knew it had to be a man from the sea that would capture her heart. And she met a man of the sea, a handsome sylvan who was born and raised near the sea.

He was a wealthy man, he even owned a Castle, that lay beside the beach - on a hill. From there you could see to the end of the world. And she did, often.

They married, and lived happily for many years. The man of the sea often travelled to far away places, and brought back presents for the one he loved. And she loved him back with every inch of her being.

But she still loved to dance with the butterflies, laying in flower patches and looking at the sky, and to play in the waves. She still also enjoyed the admiration from the males, but her eyes always wandered and rested in her beloved´s eyes.

Evil tongues whispered in his ears though, and soon he became unwilling to let her go out of the castle.
"I am all you need!" he said, and let build a chamber in the middle of the Castle. The chamber was richly decorated, and she got what she asked for with a blink of an eye, but every time they had done what they came to do, they locked the door.

The chamber had no windows, no view to the sea, or to the forest. No dancing butterflies and no sky. And no other eyes than the man from the sea and his servants.

He was content, and brought back wonderful presents, but didn´t notice how she slowly waned. Her hair lost color, her skin became pale and dead.
He was happy, as he had everything he ever dreamed of. She dreamt of the happiness she once called her own.

One morning he found her lifeless in bed. She couldn´t live by food alone.
